QI know you get tired of me asking this but what are the top radio stations in the 18-34 demo right now?

New ratings will be out next week. December's top three were the usual front-runner WMMR, followed by WRFF with My106.1 close behind.

QWith all the belt tightening going on at various stations, how can channel 6 sustain 5 meteorologists? I know that one does traffic.

CBS3 and NBC10 each have four. I'm not sure it's terribly unusual for 6ABC to have five, especially given Dave Roberts' vacation time. Weather means everything in local news, and I'd think that would be the last department to be downsized.

Christmas ratings?
QWhen do we get to see the ratings from the actual "Christmas book" as opposed to just the December numbers? As I recall, last year when B101 did all-Christmas with no competition, they got around a 15 share in the December "book" but it jumped up 2 points in the Christmas one. Thanks!

AClearly you mean Gary Papa of 6ABC, who was not seen over the weekend as part of the Eagles coverage. A 6ABC spokeswoman told me that he had a "previously scheduled medical procedure" related to his prostate cancer and that it couldn't have been postponed. She did not know a timetable for his return.

QYou mentioned that Q was paying booker $333,333. Is that what a lot of radio people in Philly get? For instance, what about Lisa Paige or Tiffany and Michael at B101?

Salaries are all over the map. I'm sure that Angelo Cataldi on WIP is still over $1 million. Howard Eskin is probably in the mid-to-high six figures. Hosts on "produced" shows make much more. From my talks with various agents, I doubt that Lisa Paige makes half of what Booker did, nor do the B101 folks.

Of course you're not the only one listening to Miss Reed on WYSP (94.1). According to the December Arbitrons, she connected best with men ages 18-34; she was tied for 5th place with Wired. She was in 14th place among listeners ages 18-34 and was tied for 18th place among listeners ages 25-54. As for the "king of PM drive," in December that title, as usual, went to Jaxon on WMMR (93.3) among the younger demo and to Dan Blackman on B101 (101.1) among the older demo.
