Jessica Borg
QHello Michael,
Is Jessica Borg still with WPVI? I haven't seen her, and Erin O'Hearn took her spot on Sunday's morning news.
Thank You
TJ, Winslow, NJ 02/01/09
AJessica Borg left at the end of her contract in December.

QMichael, is there any truth to the report that Jim Gardner will retire later this year and that Matt O'Donnell is slated as his replacement?
Shellsy, Philly, PA 01/29/09
AFrom what I heard, there's no truth to the rumor. Check back with me this time next year because I'm sure you'll hear it again.

Huddleston, Kammerer
QMichael,
On your insider video you said that Huddleston and Kammerer will be doing the 10pm news AND the 11pm news on CBS3. Does that mean reduce duties for Chris May and Kathy Orr?
Klovis, Mayfair, PA 01/28/09
A
That refers to Sunday night. Chris May, Susan Barnett and Kathy Orr are on weeknights.

Sponsors' scheduling
QMichael,
Hello. I'm curious about two things. Don't know if you can offer any thoughts/info.
When flipping channels while watching the local 11:00 p.m. news, I will sometimes see the same commercial (perhaps for a car) running on two different channels, timed almost identically. I have never noticed it on all three stations. I wonder if there was some regulation or something against running an ad by the same sponsor (at the same time) on too many outlets in the same market.
ALSO - Since 950 AM now calls themselves ESPN (are they still legally WPEN?), I've noticed their sponsor breaks are line up pretty much with WIP (both sports stations) - they didn't before the change. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Larry, Glenolden, PA 01/28/09
A
There's no regulation against it. In fact, I think it's a smart idea since it clear hits two different audiences.
ESPN950 is still officially WPEN. It uses the "ESPN" because it's a national brand. To most people, "WPEN" calls to mind Ken Garland, Tom Lamaine and company.

CBS3
QIf Fox29 cuts ties with Dawn Stensland (as you seemed to say could be possible with all of these cuts and Kerri-Lee resigned), do you think CBS3 would dare go after her to do the 10pm news with Dave Huddleston?
Frank, Philly, PA 01/27/09
AI'm not 100 percent sure that Fox29 would "cut ties" with Dawn Stensland. The reality is that stations are looking very closely at anchors who work only one show,. They're either being let go, or (as in the case of Monica Malpass) accepting pay cuts. Down the road, CBS3 might look at Stensland as an anchor, but not for a half-hour 10 o'clock show on CW Philly. It just wouldn't make financial sense.

Actors in philly
QIs there a movie currently filmimg in philly starring Jamie Foxx and Gerrard Butler ?
Lenny Bazemore, Philadelphia, PA 01/27/09
A
It's a thriller called "Law Abiding Citizen" and it will be here for about two months. I've written about it, most recently Sunday. They're shooting around City Hall now, and will be moving to other locations next week.

What going on at ch 10
QMike,
What's going on at channel 10? Sunday morning John blount was all alone. Can't anybody stand working with this guy???
Jim, Broomall, PA 01/27/09
AClearly, it was a staffing issue. The station was running short on Sunday.

Diego
QWhere do you think Diego will end up after being let go?
anonymous, PA 01/26/09
AI wrote last week that it's possible he'll join Chio on Wired after his three-month noncompete is over. That, or opening a bar in Northeast Philly.

Stefano's - Hutington Valley
QHey, Do you have any information on Stefano's closing in Huntingdon Valley?
JBOD, Abington, PA 01/26/09
A
Only that the family that ran the restaurant cannot be reached. They had a pretty good run -- 15 years, I think.
