WILL THE EAGLES FLY IN 2009
Hi Bob:
The answer to the second question makes the first one irrelevant. No, Andywill not make changes in the offense and run the ball more; therefore getting a power back is irrelevant.
I DO think the Eagles will draft a top back early in the draft -- perhaps even taking Beanie White or LeShon McKoy in the first round. But they won't play him until Westbrook is done, and when they do, the main thing will stll be pass, pass, pass.
best regards

Really?
I think you've missed the point here Jackson.
McNabb is intent on forcing a trade. That's what ALL of this is about.
why do you want the eagles to become the loins
I have been an eagles fan forever and as bad as its been the eagles, They still play competive football.
Andy Reid is not the problem the problem is the owner Jeffrey Lurie who is very cheap and wants to win cheap. The one year the Eagles got some Top Line players the went to the superbowl. This team and last years team dont come close. I want to see a superbowl champion like any other eagles fan but the reality is this team is not good enough. I do not want to see them getting blown out every sunday and become the sorry pathetic teams they were in the 70s. So please stop calling for the coach who has won the most games in eagles history to lose his job.
Saying Jeffrey Lurie is cheap is pretty far fetched after he just signed Assante Samuel to a $57 million contract.
Keep in mind personel is the domain of Andy Reid. If they are not competitive, that's the fault of the personel director. (reid). If the staff makes poor use of the personel, that's the fault of the head coach. (reid). If the quarterback is playing poorly and he head coach sticks with him, that again goes to the head coach.
And I haven't called for his head. What I've said is, that if he chooses to step aside, the new coach would be marty Mornhinweg. I think, instead, that they should look outside for a new set of eyes and a new direction.

6) A recently fired NFL Coach
Norm Chow. 0
Bill Cower. 0 (he'll be the new coach of the cleveland browns)
Tom Bradley: 50-50
Chris Peterson: 50-50 (if penn state had the brains to get him, he'd be a good choice)
Jay Pa: 0
Former NFL coach: 10 (lane kiffin would be good, so would steve mariucci, or such current NFL coaches as jon gruden).
Tennessee checked with gruden and lovie smith last week and neither was interested.
19th /century Team Vs Tarpon fishers???
Some advice for ya. Don't sell this team or this area short. They have kicked Philly's ass in everything that has mattered over the last 5 years. Tampa Bay is Philly's worst nightmare! Be careful what you wish for Philly fans. You don't want another dose of Tampa Bay.
Paying dues has nothing to do with any of this. It is not the Rays fault that Phillies owners were cheap and actually claimed to be a "small market" team in order to get league subsidies.
Philly will find out who the Rays are in soon enough time.
We always look forward to playing teams from Philly. Know why? Cause you our Bi@#$&s!!!!!
Florida Marlins Minor League Scouting
Checking your magic crystal ball, does it forecast that the Florida Marlins will win a World Series title (again) before the Phillies do?
Also, how do you account for the difference between the quality and depth found in the Marlin's scouting staff compared to that of the mediocre director of minor leagues and scouting the Phils employ?
Hi Nancy:
As far as the World Series goes, Florida has won twice since the Phillies last won one, so that trend would be the first indicator. I caution you, however, that baseball is not a serious sport in South Florida and won't be until the Marlins either get a new stadium or move.
As far as the minors go, I think Mike Arbuckle is one of the best in the league and the large number of good to excellent drafted players in the Phillies lineup shows that. Also, the best players acquired in trade in recent years (Brad Lidge and Billy Wagner) both were obtained by training minor leaguers the Phillies had drafted themselves. The Phillies problem is not drafting or acquiring talent -- the problem is developing pitchers when they get to the majors. That has been the franchise's achilles heel for all of my 50 years as a fan.
Thankx

Was he unsure or was he counting stats
What the receiver or the coach think is irrelevant. The call on the field is the only thing that counts.

Why The Outcry
Why the outcry over NBA players considering big money contracts overseas? The difference between $20 million and $50 million is $30 million. You'd have to be crazy to not consider a $30 million dollar raise. If fans think the NBA is a poor product, which it can be at times, they shouldn't watch or buy tickets. Should interest in a sports league be based on how many bentleys someone drives? It's not as if there are hogging up all the Bentley's for the rest of us.
Also, hockey players leave the NHL to play in Europe all the time. I find it hard to believe that Sydney Crosby wouldn't bolt across the pond for an extra $30 million, and talk about over rated, he only has to play for 30 seconds at a time before changing lines.
There's no outcry among the fans -- only the teams who are losing players. thanx, dm
Is Billie King back
I am as incredulous as you and, apparently, the rest of the NBA....

Just Goes to Show...
I mean how much money does one ever need? In the big picture, is 50 million really more than 20 million? The only difference I see is a few Bentleys or compounds for their friends to live in.
Let them go...and good riddance!!!
Hi Nancy:
Since this is more of a statement than a question, I'll post it without comment.
thanx
