Lineman commits to PSU

Smith, 6-5, 295 pounds, chose Penn State over North Carolina State and UCLA. He had offers from 20 schools.

Smith was recruited by Penn State defensive line coach Larry Johnson. He is rated No. 199 nationally by Rivals.com and is the No. 5 prospect in Maryland.

Penn State now has 12 commitments in the Class of 2012.
