Gonzaga leads Blast over Kixx

BALTIMORE - Lucio Gonzaga scored three goals to help lead the Baltimore Blast to a 19-8 win over the Kixx in a Major Indoor Soccer League game Saturday night at 1st Mariner Arena.

The Kixx (0-2) were led by Ptah Myers, who scored the game's opening goal at 6:09 of the first quarter and added an assist on Adauto Neto's goal in the fourth.

The Kixx outshot the Blast, 23-21, but Blast goalkeeper Sagu recorded 15 saves while Kixx goalie Sanaldo only managed eight.

Baltimore tied the game in the first quarter on a goal by Denison Cabral. The Kixx reacquired the lead when Ryan Heins scored on an assist from Anthony Maher just 33 seconds into the second quarter.

Gonzaga knotted the game again at 4-4 at 1:24 of the quarter. Just 49 seconds later, the Kixx went ahead, 6-4, on a goal by Rey Martinez .

The Blast closed out the quarter with goals from Mike Lookingland, Machel Millwood and Gonzaga to take an 11-6 halftime lead.

The Kixx never led in the second half.
