Say it ain't so, Joe
The Hall of Fame quarterback appeared at a hearing in West Palm Beach, Fla., yesterday to face charges that two of his dogs attacked people at his home in Tequesta.
He finished the day 1-1.
Leo, his yellow Labrador retriever, was declared "dangerous." Namath was told he had to keep the dog muzzled and leashed even on his property.
The case against another of his dogs was dropped after the witness failed to show.
Namath would not comment. His attorney said he might appeal.
Knock some sense into him
Last month, Arizona Cardinals receiver Sean Morey was named co-chair of the NFL Players Association's concussion and traumatic brain injury committee.
Yesterday, he said he played with a concussion against the Chicago Bears last week.
And they say Namath's dog is dangerous.
The ins and outs of pro football
Most NFL teams have top-notch indoor practice facilities like the Eagles' NovaCare Complex.
Not the Carolina Panthers.
Generally, Charlotte's weather is football-
friendly so there usually is no need to go indoors. But this week, the area has been pelted with the remnants of Hurricane Ida so for 2 days the Panthers worked out in a nearby indoor complex that has a short field and low ceiling.
"For obvious reasons, you're limited," coach John Fox told the Associated Press. "You can't punt the ball. You can't throw deep passes."
Sounds like the Detroit Lions.
