End-zone 'Thriller'

MOVE OVER T.O. and Ocho Cinco: The

Canadian Football League's Arland Bruce has you both beaten when it comes to unique end-zone celebrations.

In fact, the Toronto Argonauts wideout probably displayed the most bizarre celebration to date when he stripped off his helmet, shoulder pads and jersey and lay motionless in the end zone pretending to be dead and buried. This after scoring on a 21-yard touchdown pass in a CFL regular-season game.

Why, you ask? To commemorate the death of pop-music king Michael Jackson, naturally.

Needless to say, there weren't enough yellow flags to be thrown at this infraction that, along with a pair of "objectional conduct" penalties, led to a league fine of an undisclosed sum for "excessive actions."

"It's not always easy to draw that line, but when you remove your equipment, lay down and delay the game like he did, well, that's where we draw the line," a CFL spokesman told the Associated Press.

Obama weighs in

When he's not busy dealing with the budget deficit, meeting with foreign dignitaries or holding a barbecue on the White House lawn, President Obama takes time to weigh in on a long-winded debate: Who's better? Lower Merion's own Kobe Bryant, or His Airness, Michael Jordan?

"Oh, Michael," Obama answered in an interview with the Associated Press yesterday. "I mean, Kobe's terrific. Don't get me wrong . . . but I haven't seen anybody match up with Jordan yet."

Bias could be argued, considering the leader of the free world hails from Chicago.

Say hi to the Williams sisters

Tennis fans will have a chance to congratulate the upcoming Wimbledon women's singles champion - and the runner-up. Both Venus and Serena Williams, set to play in an all-Williams final tomorrow at Wimbledon, will be in King of Prussia this month with the Freedoms and World TeamTennis. Venus will represent the Freedoms when they take on Sacramento Wednesday and Serena will be in the house on July 13 when the Freedoms play the Washington Kastles.
