Temple basketball close to adding another foreign player

Last December, Temple basketball coach Fran Dunphy welcomed a point guard from Argentina, Juan Fernandez, to his team.

He might be adding another foreign player for this season.

According to OwlsScoop.com, the Owls are recruiting 6-9, 200-pound power forward Carmel Bouchman, a 3-year member of Israel's youth national team.

"It's not done yet, but there's a chance," is how the Web site quoted an Israeli basketball source in assessing the likelihood of it indeed happening.

Bouchman plays for the Maccabi Tel Aviv club team. He will represent his country in next month's European under-18 championships. In 2007, he played on the team that competed in the Euro under-16 games. And last year, he was also on the under-18 squad. He was Israel's leading rebounder and shot blocker in both. *
