Phillies reliever Condrey to go on DL

The Phillies' battered bullpen has taken another hit, as the team plans to place righthander Clay Condrey on the disabled list with a strained oblique.

As of last night, the team had yet to make the move, but expected to do so at some point today.

One of the bullpen's most reliable arms for the first 2 months of the season, Condrey has pitched just twice since June 13. In those two outings, he has allowed six earned runs while recording just one out.

Lefthander Sergio Escalona is expected to be called up to replace Condrey. *
