High Schools - City players make All-State Basketball Teams
City-leagues players appear all over the All-State Basketball Teams selected by the Associated Press in statewide voting by sports writers.
In fact, Players of the Year in two of the four enrollment classifications are Philly guys.
Andrew "Scootie" Randall, of Communications Tech, won POY honors in AAA while Jarrod "G" Denard, of Freire Charter, did likewise in A.
Other members of the assorted teams:
AAAA: Maalik Wayns, Roman Catholic, first team; Andrew Rogers, Archbishop Ryan, second team; Nurideen Lindsey, Overbrook, and Jim Mower, St. Joseph's Prep, third team.
AAA: Jamal Wilson, Ss. Neumann-Goretti, second team.
AA: Dwayne Davis, Strawberry Mansion, and Rashad Savage, Imhotep Charter, first team.
A: Brandon Penn, Paul Robeson, first team; Jose Ortiz, Math, Civics and Sciences, second team.
