Hawks handle Explorers
The St. Joseph's trio of Brittany Ford, Timisha Gomez and Sarah Acker ran roughshod on host La Salle en route to a 70-52 victory in an Atlantic 10 women's game last night.
Gomez (18 points), Ford (16 points, seven rebounds) and Acker (12 rebounds) led the way in the Hawks' season sweep over their Atlantic 10 and Big 5 rival.
The Hawks are 15-13, 2-2 in the Big 5.
Carlene Hightower led La Salle (12-16, 1-3 Big 5) with 21 points.
In another game:
Ashley Morris (22 points) and Lakeisha Eaddy (20) paced Temple to a 77-66 win over A-10 foe Saint Louis. The win improved Temple to 11-2 in the A-10 (18-11 overall).
