The Knoxville News-Sentinel reported yesterday that tryouts would be held in Philadelphia on July 12 and that the team, once assembled, would remain here for training camp before leaving for Rio de Janeiro, site of this year's Pan Am Games which will run from July 13-29. Men's basketball games, featuring teams from North, South and Central America, are slated to be played July 25-29.

This would be Wright's third stint as a USA Basketball coach.

Two years ago he led the World University Games team to a gold medal, earning USA Basketball Co-Development coach of the year honors, and in 2000 he assisted Jim Boeheim on the USA Basketball World Championship qualifying team. *
