About this section

A major theme of this section is breaking down "silos," conventional divisions that discourage collaborative thinking. In that spirit, this Rethinking Philadelphia section is a collaboration between the Philadelphia Daily News and PlanPhilly.

PlanPhilly, funded by the William Penn Foundation, has evolved from an experiment in project-based journalism - covering the Central Delaware Riverfront project of Penn Praxis, the clinical arm of the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania - into an editorially independent newsgathering entity. PlanPhilly offers citizens, policy-makers design and planning professionals coverage of Philadelphia's built and planned environment.
