Letters: Reagan's example

IN TOUGH times, when the city is broke, jobs are being lost and people trying to save money by taking public transportation, I find it appalling that SEPTA workers aren't happy with an 11 percent pay hike over the contract and a $1,250 bonus.

SEPTA riders used to being held up by thugs lurking near stations are now held up by the thugs that run the union. Maybe someone should take a page out of President Reagan's air-traffic strike book and fire all

of them.

John Brady, Philadelphia

Maybe you should take another page out of Reagan's book and run up more costly deficits.

Mike, shall we assume that you support the strike? If so, kindly tell us why you believe that bus drivers should be paid more than an assistant district attorney or a teacher. I look forward to your response.

Reagen's busy in hell...leave him alone to do his job of making people's lives miserable for eternity.
