PITCHING wins championships, so let's recap the '09 Phillies: Hamels wins only 10 games, Lidge blows 11 saves, Happ pitches in the series like the rookie he is, we lose Myers for a time and Romero for the season.
Given that, it's amazing our Phils even made it to the World Series. But as Harry Kalas would say, I have high hopes for 2010. We'll have a full season of Lee, I predict that the Lidge of 2008 will return, Happ will grow and be a force to be reckoned with and Romero returns.
I'm truly proud of our team. They gave us an exciting year and promises of more to come. I salute them on a job well done and encourage all true Phillies fans to salute them as well. And remember, our parade wasn't canceled, it has been merely postponed. See all of you on Broad Street in 2010.
