Letters: Where was our bike-sharing?

Getting to work Tuesday morning was trouble with a SEPTA strike scare/It could have been easier if Philadelphia had Bike Share.

Instead of fretting if there would be a bus at the stop/Off to work on a shared bike you could hop./With bike stations within blocks of your house/You'd be at work on time, with no boss to grouse.

Radio-frequency IDs would be your bike-share keys/When this strike stopped the trolleys./ Riding a shared bike would elevate your day/When even a token can't help you ride the subway.

Bike-sharing in Philadelphia could have helped save the day/When this SEPTA strike suddenly got in our way.

Over recent years, "public-use bicycling," or bike-sharing, has helped get workers to their jobs during crippling transit strikes in other cities in the world. We need to bring bike-sharing to our city.
