The Rev. Robert P. Lepleiter, longtime parish priest

The Rev. Robert P. Lepleiter, who served a number of churches in the Philadelphia area in 46 years as a Roman Catholic priest, died of cardiac disease Oct. 21.

He was 79 and lived at Villa St. Joseph, in Darby.

Father Lepleiter was born in Philadelphia to Robert Peter Lepleiter and Marguerite A. Lynch.

He attended St. Hubert Parochial School and Northeast High School before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

He was ordained on May 18, 1963, by the Most Rev. John J. Krol at the Cathedral Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul.

He served as parochial vicar at St. Henry, St. Dominic, Our Lady of Ransom, St. Anselm, St. Helena and Holy Angels, all in Philadelphia, and at St. Joseph, in Aston, and St. Robert Bellarmine, in Warrington.

He was pastor of St. Jerome's in Philadelphia from 1988 through 1990.

He is survived by a sister, Marguerite Young.

Services: Were Tuesday.

Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
