Cops: Partygoers killed the hostess

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - A woman who hosted a small holiday gathering at her home here this weekend was allegedly killed by two partygoers.

Somerset County prosecutors filed first-degree murder charges against Gary Wilson and Rocky Ditaranto, both of Bridgewater, in the death of Carolyn Stone. The mother of three was found dead early Sunday in the back yard of her home.

Investigators say that the men strangled Stone, 45, then struck her in the head with a cinder block before fleeing to their homes.

Police said yesterday that they had not determined the motive for the slaying.

Wilson and Ditaranto were being held in the county jail in lieu of $750,000 bail. *
