REGIONAL RAIL

(Click on the route name for schedules)

R1 R2 Warminster R3 W. Trenton R2 Wilmington R3 Media Elwyn R5 Paoli Thorndale

Many SEPTA Regional Rail lines serve stations within the city and connect with Suburban Transit bus and trolley routes, making it the best travel option during a service interruption.

Schedules

All Regional Rail service will operate according to the published schedule times. Express trains may make additional stops to accommodate the anticipated increase in riders. Station announcements will be made for any service changes. Schedules are available at stations and online at www.septa.org.

Fares

All regular fares will apply if there's a strike. Passes offer the best value for your money and will make traveling easier. In the event of a service interruption, weekly and monthly TransPasses will be valid for travel, at all times, to all regional rail stations within the city, except Forest Hills and Somerton. These stations will require a Zone 3 fare ticket or pass.

Purchase fares ahead of time to speed your trip. Ticket and pass sales will be available at 30th Street, Suburban and Market East stations, as well as at outlying stations with ticket offices.

SEPTA sales offices will be open at 15th Street and 69th Street. All other locations, including 1234 Market St., will be closed.

If the Septa workers strike, they should all be fired and replaced with people who appreciate having a job. Threatening to lock down the city on the eve of the world series is reprehensible, and they should be punished for this, not rewarded.

In this economy, the SEPTA rank and file needs to understand that they won't be able to get what they want, not 100%. This is NOT the time for a work action.

Fire all of them and rehire new workers. I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of people who are willing to replace the ones that are going on strike.

I have spoken to many SEPTA workers. They informed me they did not want to strike. They said that the Union President is declaring a strike on his own. The so-called vote for a strike was a joke. Everyone at the meeting was ushered out after an hour of fighting and a vote was never taken. We need to sue SEPTA and ask the courts to outlaw the strike since SEPTA gets Federal funding and the strike will affect thousands of riders, including myself.

unions do have their pros and cons,,unfortunately if the union leaders say "strike",u have no say in the matter,,u have to strike or there are consequences,,i'm not taking any blame off the workers themselves since if u interview them on TV,i'm quite sure they would be "For" the strike. with so many people out of work and looking for a job,,i'm quite sure replacing all their jobs would be no problem at all. they've been without a contract since March if i'm not mistaken,,they purposely waited until this weekend to do this. they want more money?,they get paid enough,,they want better medical?,many dont have any medical insurance at all,,,they should be thankful for what they have and that they have a job at all,,,this is just all about greed. they don't deserve it.

I am a pro union man but to call a strike in this economy is totally crazy. The union needs to back down today or there are many, many unemployed people who would love to work in transit.

Yo! - Editors...wake up. Under the heading "What SEPTA Service Will Not Run?" you have listings, then a map, then another listing for Regional Rails with no new heading or intro - as if the Regionals are not running - confusing - fix! And your links to the schedules - click R7; you get Cynwyd.

Thanks, Philed. We will amend those errors and stop linking to this map while we do.
