Another woman has been found strangled at an abandoned property in Kensington, the second in two weeks.

Nicole Piacentini's partially clothed body was found halfway inside the doorway of an abandoned three-story house on Cumberland Street near Jasper about 4 p.m. Saturday, a homicide investigator said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:10 p.m., but the case wasn't ruled a homicide until Sunday night, following an autopsy by the Medical Examiner's Office, police said.

It has not been determined what was used to strangle Piacentini, 35, whose last known address was on Edgemont Street near Cambria, in Port Richmond. Police are also investigating who called 9-1-1 to alert them of her death.

Less than a mile away, Elaine Goldberg's partially clothed body was found Nov. 3 in an abandoned lot on Ruth Street near Hart Lane.

The killer used his or her hands to strangle the 21-year-old nursing student and former drug addict, according to the autopsy report. Her slaying remains unsolved.

Police said that they have nothing to connect the cases yet. Tipsters are urged to call homicide detectives at 215-686-3334.
