A man who started a conversation with a woman on a SEPTA train Saturday morning beat and sexually assaulted her when they arrived at a city college campus, police said.

According to police Officer Tanya Little, the woman got on the Sedgwick station-bound train at Market East, where the man initiated a conversation.

The woman missed her stop, Little said, and both she and the man got off at the Chestnut Hill East Station together about 12:30 a.m.

Little said the victim and her assailant were walking together on the Chestnut Hill College campus when he allegedly pulled her into an alcove, where he beat and sexually assaulted her. A college security guard came to the woman's aid after her attacker fled. The woman was treated at the Episcopal Campus of Temple University Hospital, Little said.

Little described the attacker as a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 with a light beard and wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the police Special Victims Unit at 215 685-3252 or 685-TIPS.

2POLICE SEEK KILLER

OF JUNIATA MAN

Police last night were searching for the killer of a Juniata man who was fatally shot near his home Saturday night.

Polcie identified the victim as Julio Ortega, who was shot multiple times about 10:30 p.m. on Sedgely Avenue near Kensington. Police Officer Tanya Little said Ortega was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital and pronounced dead at 11:14 p.m.

3SKELETAL REMAINS FOUND BY HUNTERS

Hunters discovered male remains Friday night near Parx Racing, in Bensalem, police said. Bensalem police did not return phone calls for comment yesterday, but a spokesman told the Trentonian on Saturday that hunters made the grisly discovery about 8 p.m. Friday in a field off of Galloway Road near the park and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Sgt. Andrew Aninsman told the newspaper that police were still trying to identify the remains, which were mostly skeletal, and were searching through missing-persons reports.
