Testimony was to continue today in the trial of two men accused of killing Police Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski after robbing a bank on May 3, 2008.

Eric Deshann Floyd, 35, and Levon T. Warner, 41, could be sentenced to death if convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Liczbinski, 39.

A Police Department DNA expert presented evidence yesterday that linked the defendants and the dead triggerman, Howard Cain, to the crime.

Bus crashes in Center City

A Route 21 SEPTA bus crashed into a lightpole on Walnut Street near 12th last night after the driver suffered a seizure, according to a transit agency spokesman.

None of the passengers were injured and the driver was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

3 men shot in Logan house

Three men were shot by a pair of gunmen in Logan early yesterday. The victims were inside a house on Camac Street near Rockland when they responded to a knock on the door about 1:45 a.m., and were met by a torrent of gunfire from two young men.

A 50-year-old man suffered a chest wound. His pals, ages 42 and 51, suffered wounds to the neck and a graze wound to the chest, respectively.

Police said the 50-year-old and 42-year-old were in critical condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center. The other victim was treated and released. The gunmen were described as black men, ages 17 to 20. One wore a gray shirt, the other a blue shirt and blue rag on his face. Tipsters can call 215-686-3353.

Police identify dead man

Police identified the man fatally shot in a North Philadelphia vacant lot Wednesday night as Jeffrey Fleming, 21, of Mole Street near Susquehanna Avenue. Fleming was shot once in the chest and declared dead at the scene on 18th Street near Dauphin.

Police reported no immediate arrests. Tipsters can call homicide detectives at 215-686-3334 or -3335.

AmeriChoice helps city pools

Mayor Nutter yesterday accepted a $60,000 donation to the city's 2010 "Splash and Summer FUNd" from AmeriChoice of Pennsylvania to help keep public swimming pools open.

Bicyclist fatally hit by car

A 38-year-old bicyclist died after being struck by a car in Broomall yesterday morning. The man, who was not identified, was riding west along West Chester Pike in a lane of traffic that turns into a ramp for I-476, when he was struck from behind by a car driven by a woman shortly after 10 a.m., police said.

The man, who suffered severe head injuries, died on the operating table at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon, police said. The driver, who was also not identified, was "inattentive" at the time of the crash, though police did not clarify why. She stayed at the scene; it's not yet known if she will face charges.

Sex assault by Eagle Scout?

A 37-year-old Eagle Scout from Atlantic County is jail on charges of sexually assaulting a boy during a camping trip last month.

New Jersey State Police say Brian Killion, 37, of Absecon, took two juvenile boys who were under 13 on a camping trip to Bass River State Forest in Burlington County in June with the consent of their parents. Police believe Killion sexually assaulted one boy in view of the other inside the tent.
