Family asks: Where are you, Jenna Lord?

A day wouldn't go by when Jenna Lord didn't call her grandmother, her mother said, but no one's reported hearing anything from the 23-year-old Collingdale, Delaware County, woman since she was last seen at a Camden train station last week.

"She always calls," said Lord's mother, Desiree Caruso. "Everybody's missing her right now."

Lord, who has a 3-year-old son, has been missing since July 5, when surveillance cameras reportedly captured her walking through the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, her mother said. But the petite woman with a Mickey Mouse tattoo is no stranger to tough places.

She spent three weeks in the Delaware County Prison in June, records show, on charges of aggravated assault, robbery, theft and other counts in a case that's pending out of Darby Township. In January, she was charged with fighting in the township, and she has been charged with various offenses elsewhere in Delaware County in recent years, including obscene gestures, public drunkenness, marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, careless driving and harassment. Collingdale Police Chief Robert Adams said Lord has had drug issues as well.

Caruso said "nothing was going on" in her daughter's life, however, that would have made her want to disappear.

"She was going to Camden because she wanted to go home," she said. "Even if she's doing whatever, she still calls."

Lord had been visiting family at an apartment complex in Collingswood, Camden County, on July 4, and her mom said she got a ride to Camden the following morning to catch a train home. According to Caruso, a man named Eric helped Lord get a ticket to Philadelphia and allowed her to use his cell phone to call home because hers was dead. Caruso was asleep, however, and missed the call.

"We've spent a lot of time in Camden putting up fliers and asking people around the transportation center. We get a lot of bad information," she said.

Caruso said police spoke with "Eric," and he said that Lord had appeared frightened and confused but that he left the station before she did.

It's still unclear which police department is in charge of the investigation. Caruso reported Lord missing to the Collingdale police, but Adams said the investigation should be conducted by a department in New Jersey.

"She's in the [system] as a missing person, there's no argument there," he said. "She was last seen in [New Jersey]."

Caruso said she was dealing with the Camden police but a spokeswoman said the case was being handled by Collingswood. Collingswood authorities said they checked out the apartment Lord visited but that's all.

"We're not really handling it," said Collingswood Police Chief Richard Sarlo.

A Facebook group called HELP FIND JENNA LORD has more than 1,000 members, some of whom seem just as confused.

"Do they think she was kidnapped or just ran away!?," a member posted on the page.

Lord's MySpace page is aglow in hot pink and expletives and filled with pictures of her son, Ed, along with friends and family. Lord wrote that she was attending Empire Beauty School.

Lord is 5-foot-1 and about 120 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. She has a Mickey Mouse tattoo on her right arm and smaller tattoos elsewhere.
