Trio found bloodied in Delco house; cops say man, 29, cut dad, uncle & himself
"There was blood everywhere," Collingdale Police Chief Robert Adams said. "We don't yet know what the motive was other than intoxication."
Police were called to the home that the three men share on Walnut Street near Clifton Avenue, in Collingdale, about 9:51 p.m. after reports of a suicidal person, Adams said.
In the living room, police said, they found a man in his 50s, later identified as the 29-year-old's father, bleeding profusely.
They were then met by the 29-year-old, who came down the steps with scissors in his hands, police said. He also was bleeding heavily, though his wounds appeared to have been self-inflicted, Adams said.
When asked where the man appeared to have injured himself, Adams said: "You name it."
A third man, also in his 50s and identified as the alleged attacker's uncle, was found in a second-floor bedroom unconscious with wounds to his face and chest, police said. His face and head also appeared to have been kicked, and he suffered a broken jaw and a broken eye socket, according to police.
Adams said that it appeared that the 29-year-old attacked the others before cutting himself.
Adams said that he didn't know the conditions of the men but that they were all expected to survive despite their "bad, bad cuts."
The alleged attacker and the victim found upstairs were taken to Crozer-Chester. The other victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, police said.
All three men appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Authorities did not identify them.
