$5M in pot found at grow-house
Philadelphia police seized more than $5 million worth of marijuana yesterday from a house on 7th Street near Indiana Avenue, in the Fairhill section, said Narcotics Capt. Debra Frazier. The big haul started shortly before 10:30 a.m. with a 9-1-1 call from a neighbor, who complained about the smell emanating from the house.
Frazier said police arrived at the scene and spotted marijuana plants through a rear window. More than 600 plants were found inside, along with a .38 caliber handgun and at least 35 lamps used to help the pot grow, she said. No one was inside the property at the time of the raid, but Frazier said that police have a "target in mind for a future arrest."
