Two more jurors were selected yesterday to hear the trial of John "Jordan" Lewis, accused of fatally shooting Philadelphia Police Officer Chuck Cassidy during a robbery on Oct. 31, 2007.
The new jurors bring to nine the number of jury seats that have been filled since selection began Wednesday. Lewis, 23, is facing the death penalty.

Philadelphia has the third-highest unemployment among the country's 10 largest cities, according to a report released yesterday by City Controller Alan Butkovitz.
The unemployment rate in September was 11 percent, lower than in Los Angeles and Chicago, with 12.7 and 11.3, respectively, but higher than in New York and San Jose, Calif., which round out the top five.
Philadelphia's rate, which has risen 3.4 percentage since September 2008, was 2.2 points higher than the state's rate of 8.8 percent, according to the controller's monthly snapshot. The national rate rose in October to 10.2 percent.
2 convicted in biz fraud
A Michigan father and son were convicted here yesterday in federal court in a scheme that allowed them to gain control of several small businesses around the country and drain their bank accounts, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Kenneth Mitan, 50, and Frank Mitan, 84, targeted small companies that were up for sale, including Benny's Cheese at Broad and Carpenter streets, the office said in a release.
They were each convicted of two counts of mail fraud and two counts of wire fraud. Kenneth Mitan was also convicted of one count of conspiracy, and one count of using a false name in furtherance of mail fraud. Two other defendants previously pleaded guilty.
Kenneth Mitan faces a maximum sentence of 105 years in prison, and Frank Mitan faces a maximum sentence of 80 years in prison.

Christie says kids stay put
Chris Christie, New Jersey's governor-elect, says he won't uproot his four school-age children to move to the chief executive's mansion in Princeton Township.
But he says the family will have Sunday dinners at the historic mansion, known as Drumthwacket. He also plans to host official functions at the residence, much as the residence was used by Gov. Jon Corzine, whom Christie defeated in Tuesday's election.
