Cop shoots robbery suspect
A police officer shot a robbery suspect about 9 last night inside a store on Front Street near Allegheny Avenue in Kensington, police said. Two officers on foot patrol entered the store after noticing that it had been broken into, police said. Inside they confronted a 35-year-old man whom they found hiding. Police said that one officer fired his weapon, hitting the man, who was taken to Temple University Hospital. He was listed in stable condition, police said.
Woman fights off attacker
A 19-year-old woman was attacked Monday by a creep with bad teeth near Temple University's campus in North Philadelphia, police said.
The victim told police the man sneaked up behind her on Fontain Street near 16th, claimed he had a gun and dragged her into a lot where he tried to sexually assault her.
The woman told police that she managed to fight off her attacker. She described him as black, clean-shaven, in his 50s, about 5 feet 6. Police said the man had bad teeth and was wearing a blue jacket and a dark-colored knit hat.

Girl, 4, sexually assaulted?
Police are looking into a report that a 4-year-old girl was sexually assaulted about 2 p.m. Monday on 19th Street near Vineyard in North Philadelphia.
No other information was available, police said.
Drawing for NLCS tix
Mayor Nutter has announced a drawing for National League Championship Series tickets. Three pairs of tickets will be given out for each of the three upcoming home games. Winners will be selected randomly from citizens who send an e-mail to mayorsbox@gmail.com by 5 p.m. today.
A farm on Filbert Street
Filbert Street will be transformed into an urban farm Saturday, giving those who can't get out of the city a chance to enjoy all that fall has to offer, thanks to the annual Harvest Festival at Reading Terminal Market.
Vendors will offer locally made, seasonal foods, and a bluegrass band will perform.
Brandywine Awards for 2
The 2009 Brandywine Achievement Awards will honor artist, photographer, and filmmaker Hank Willis Thomas with its Artist Award, and Sandra Dungee Glenn, former chairwoman of the School Reform Commission, with its Arts Education Award on Saturday night on the 57th floor of the Residences at Two Liberty Place.
