2 robbery victims hurt

Two men, ages 22 and 23, were seriously injured when they were robbed in South Philadelphia early yeasterday, police said. The men were outside a residence on Catharine Street near 24th at about 6:30 a.m. when, police say, two armed robbers approached them. One of the robbers shot the 23-year-old in the left forearm and side, and the other assailant hit the 22-year-old in the head with a gun before making off with undisclosed items, police said. Both were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where the 23-year-old is listed in critical condition and the 22 year-old is in stable condition, police said. Police did not say what was stolen and reported no arrests.

Adventure Camp is underway

The Youth Pony Riding Adventure Camp, sponsored by the New Africa Center, is in full swing, featuring pony rides, swimming, academic enrichment, arts and crafts, computer literacy, tennis, cultural and health awareness, and movie and theater visits. The camp, on Lancaster Avenue near 43rd Street, is for children ages 7 to 13. The next three-week session begins July 20. The last will begin Aug. 10. Cost is $100 per session. Delco pair held in shooting

Two Delaware County men have been charged with wounding three men in a shooting at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday that stemmed from an argument outside a nightclub in Old City, Philadelphia.

Brandon Mooty, 28, from Lansdowne, and Richard Ford, 28, of Upper Darby, were charged with aggravated assault and related offenses for the shooting at Letitia Street near New that left one man in critical condition with a stomach wound. His two companions were listed in stable condition yesterday.

Sunoco cutting back

Sunoco says that it will close the ethylene complex at the Marcus Hook Refinery, weeks after it was shut down because of an explosion and fire. Forty to 50 employees will be laid off.

2 hurt in cycle crash

A motorcycle chase that began in Delaware County early yesterday ended with a crash in Southwest Philadelphia that sent the driver and his passenger to the hospital. About 1 a.m., Tinicum Township police spotted a motorcycle traveling at high speeds, possibly racing, and pursued it until the bike struck a car at Bartram and Island avenues. A female passenger on the bike was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she was in critical condition. The male operator was listed in serious condition there. *
