Delaware County authorities say that they have nabbed a serial deodorant bandit who admitted to targeting a CVS in Woodlyn.

Adam Abarca, 22, of Upper Darby, was arrested yesterday by Ridley Township police and initially charged with stealing $200 worth of deodorant. But police expect to charge him with two similar heists from the same store: $111 worth on March 11 and $252 worth on March 13.

Police Sgt. Charles Palo said that Abarca called yesterday morning and fessed up after the surveillance photo hit the papers.

Palo said that Abarca was caught on camera grabbing armfuls of deodorant from the store on MacDade Boulevard and "filling his whole sweatshirt up" with the products. He sold the items to Chinese bodegas in Philadelphia for $1.50 to $2 a pop to support an out-of-control heroin addiction, according to Palo.

"He admitted he's been doing the deodorant thefts," Palo said, adding that it isn't all that unusual for drug addicts to snag hygiene products for resale.

"They're doing anything now," he said. *
