Man charged with helping fugitive

Even on the day murdered Philadelphia Police Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski was laid to rest, his comrades didn't rest themselves.

Instead, they arrested a 33-year-old man who is believed to have driven Eric DeShawn Floyd and his girlfriend, Tonya Stephens, to the boarded up rowhouse in Kingsessing where they evaded police for days.

Isaac Albright, currently an inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Graterford, allegedly picked up his friend, Floyd, 33, and Stephens, 37, in North Philadelphia last Sunday, just one day after Floyd, Levon T. Warner and Howard Cain allegedly robbed a bank inside a Port Richmond ShopRite, Homicide Sgt. Bob Wilkins said.

The rest of the story is all too familiar: In the aftermath of the robbery, police say, Cain shot and killed Liczbinski, a married father of three. Cain, in turn, was shot and killed by responding officers.

Warner, 39, of West Philadelphia, was apprehended shortly thereafter, but Floyd managed to hide out in an abandoned Kingsessing rowhouse with Stephens until late Wednesday, when the house was raided and both were arrested.

Wilkins wouldn't comment on how police closed in on Albright, except to say it was through "intense investigation."

Police located him Friday at Graterford, where he was being held on a parole violation. Wilkins was unable to detail what the parole violation was for or how long Albright had been at the prison.

He was arraigned on charges of hindering apprehension, obstruction of justice and conspiracy, Wilkins said. He was held without bail.

Albright is the third individual not immediately involved in the bank robbery who is facing charges as a result of the incident. Also arrested are Stephens, who faces charges similar to Albright's, and Mitchell Cain, the uncle of Howard Cain, who's accused of carjacking the vehicle used in the initial robbery, Wilkins said. *
