Bowling alley robbed Two masked men robbed the Lucky Strikes Bowling Alley, on Chestnut Street near Juniper, Center City, of about $15,000 early Saturday, police said. At 3:10 a.m., about an hour after the lanes closed, two tall heavy-set black men barged into the office and took the money, police said. There were no injuries to the two managers on duty, a man and a woman.

At 3:10 a.m., about an hour after the lanes closed, two tall heavy-set black men barged into the office and took the money, police said. Woman raped at motel

A woman said she was raped about 2:45 a.m. Saturday by an acquaintance who took her to a motel on Roosevelt Boulevard near Faunce Street in Rhawnhurst. Police said they know the identity of the victim's alleged attacker, but declined to release his name yesterday.

1 killed, 1 hurt in shooting

One man was shot to death and another man was in critical but stable condition following a double shooting in Nicetown about 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Walter Taylor, 37, of 53rd Street near Springfield Avenue, West Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at 19th and Ontario streets from a head wound. A block away, at Ontario and Gratz streets, police said they found another man, whom they declined to identify, collapsed on a sidewalk. He was taken to Temple University Hospital.

Archdiocese honors 6 grads

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese is honoring six Catholic school graduates with the 2008 Distinguished Graduate Award today. They are:

Cardinal John P. Foley, St. Joseph's Prep, 1957; Cpl. Michael J. Crescenz, Medal of Honor awarded posthumously, Cardinal Dougherty, 1966; Capt. Christopher J. Ferguson, NASA astronaut, Archishop Ryan, 1979.

Also, Ann P. Kearney-Cooke, director, Cincinnati Psychotherapy Institute, Bishop Conwell, 1974; Christine Rouse, founder and CEO, Acting Without Borders, Villa Maria Academy, 1993; Robert H. Palestini, dean emeritus St. Joseph's University, St. James, 1959.

West Phila. man slain

A 50-year-old West Philadelphia man was shot and killed on Melon Street near 38th, in the block where he lived, Saturday evening, police said. Eugene Campbell was shot in the head just before 5 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:05 p.m., police said.

Fight at Widener

A fight broke out at Widener University in Chester Saturday night following a school-sponsored function that was attended by students and non-students, police said.

Reports speculated that as many as 300 people were involved, but police could not confirm those numbers. Several police agencies were called in to disperse the crowd.

Police said there were no injuries or damages and no arrests were made. *
