Barre-hopping ballerinas?

Were dancers pimped out despite their plies? Plus, local filming, new Bond, Rory Gilmore gets engaged and Katy Perry's single again.

THERE HAVE BEEN a number of movies about the world of ballet, and all of them have made it seem like a back-stabbing sorority - "Mean Girls" in toe shoes.

But none of the stories compare with what's going on at Russia's vaunted Bolshoi.

Earlier this month, principal dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko was arrested over suspicion that he was involved in the acid-splashing attack on artistic director Sergei Filin.

Now, according to the Huffington Post, former star dancer Anastasia Volochkova has accused the company of pimping out its female dancers.

That's tutu twisted.

"It was mainly with the women of the corps du ballet, though it happened with the soloists, too," Volochkova told Russian News Service radio station. "Unfortunately, it turns out that the director of the Bolshoi Theater himself . . . has turned the [company] into a huge brothel.

"Ten years ago when I was working at the theater and dancing, I will say that I repeatedly received such offers . . . to share the beds of oligarchs and [to attend] their banquets," she continued, adding that she'd heard similar stories from other dancers.

Ah, the horizontal pas de deux?

Refuse to sleep with a wealthy benefactor? There would be professional repercussions, Volochkova said.

The Bolshoi so far denies the allegations (but the story has gotten "oligarchs" into Tattle for the first time).

Philadelphia filming

The movie thriller "The Church," by writer/director/West Philly native Dom Franklin, recently wrapped shooting at First Corinthian Baptist Church, at 51st and Pine streets, and star Lisa Wilcox ("Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master") enjoyed the experience.

"It was fun to be in Philadelphia," Wilcox told Tattle's comics/sci-fi/martial-arts correspondent Jerome Maida.

"It's a fabulous church. . . . It was built in 1921. The interior is absolutely gorgeous. The woodwork in the cathedral room is amazing, and the stained glass . . . it just [screams] how established and prominent it is - and very unique.

"It was," she added, "the perfect location" for the 12-day shoot. "This church really is a character in the movie, and I've never seen a church like it! It was a perfect place!"

Due to 15-hour shooting days, Wilcox was unable to experience much of Philly her first time here, but did get to enjoy a cheesesteak from Jim's Steaks on South Street - as soon as she got off the plane.

"It was dee-licious!" she said.
