WHO KNEW? There’s good beer in the ‘burbs
THERE WAS A time, not even five years ago, when a city dweller could easily disregard the suburban beer scene. Outside of a few notable destinations, the vast blanket of subdivisions and shopping malls was a beer wasteland plagued by fun-and-food "eateries" that poured little more than BudMillerCoors.
Today, the suburbs have more brewpubs than the city, and they're sprouting a number of top-rate beer bars.
The next time you venture beyond City Avenue, bring along this handy survival guide to beer bars in the sticks.
In the suburbs because: You're visiting your brother-in-law at Graterford prison.
