Spring TV: 'Game of Thrones,' 'Mad Men,' 'Wayward Pines' and more

DON DRAPER and Raylan Givens are on their way out, and "The Bible" continues. Men in kilts are back on Starz and the wars of Westeros on HBO. And that's just April.

May brings Chester County's M. Night Shyamalan to TV at last: Will you follow him west?

GOING CLEAR: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF. 8 p.m. March 29, HBO. Here's a movie Tom Cruise hopes you won't see. Eight former Scientologists, including "Crash" director Paul Haggis, recount chilling experiences in a documentary from Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney, based on the book by Lawrence Wright. And, yes, there's plenty about Cruise.

OUTLANDER. 9 p.m. April 4, Starz. The "Droughtlander" ends as 18th-century Scotsman Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and his time-traveling wife, Claire (Caitriona Balfe), return from midseason hiatus with eight new episodes of the series based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling novels.

MAD MEN. 10 p.m. April 5, AMC. The first of seven final episodes of the stylish period drama premieres, so it's time for fans to drag out those cherished theories one last time before Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and company sign off.

A.D. The Bible Continues. 9 p.m. April 5, NBC10. Easter Sunday also brings a sequel to the History Channel's blockbuster "The Bible," this time on NBC. From Roma Downey ("Touched by an Angel") and her "Survivor" producer husband Mark Burnett, "A.D." covers the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and its aftermath.

THE COMEDIANS. 10 p.m. April 9, FX. Billy Crystal and Josh Gad team up for a mockumentary about an attempt to pair up Billy Crystal and Josh Gad for a comedy series on FX. Stick around for the Season 5 premiere of "Louie" at 10:30.

MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL. April 10, Netflix. The comics giant is not putting all its golden eggs in ABC's basket. Netflix gets in the game with the blind Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), lawyer by day, superhero by night.

GAME OF THRONES. 9 p.m. April 12, HBO. Season 5 begins, and be happy you live on the East Coast of the U.S.: In an attempt to curb illegal downloads of the show that holds the record in that category, episodes are scheduled to premiere simultaneously in 170-plus countries, irrespective of time zones. Also back that night, less widely: "Veep" and "Silicon Valley."

NURSE JACKIE. 9 p.m. April 12, Showtime. Edie Falco returns for her final season as a pill-popping emergency-room nurse.

JUSTIFIED. 10 p.m. April 14, FX. First we lost Elmore Leonard and now, after six seasons, we're losing an adaptation of his work he particularly loved. Will Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) hang up his marshal's hat and find happiness far away from Harlan County? Is that even possible?

WAYWARD PINES. 9 p.m. May 14, Fox29. M. Night Shyamalan reluctantly left southeastern Pennsylvania for British Columbia to produce and direct the pilot for this 10-episode series, based on the Blake Crouch novel Pines. Matt Dillon stars as a federal agent who runs into trouble in a small Idaho town. Terrence Howard of "Empire" plays the local sheriff, who proves less than helpful.
