* AALIYAH: THE PRINCESS OF R&B. 8 p.m. Saturday, Lifetime.

This bio-pic, produced by talk show host Wendy Williams, traces the career of the singer (played by Alexis Shipp) whose life was cut short 13 years ago in a plane crash. Aaliyah's family is reportedly angry about the film, which depicts her alleged secret marriage - at age 15 - to R. Kelly (reportedly annulled and afterwards denied).

* THE MISSING. 9 p.m. Saturday, Starz.

After "The Killing" and "Broadchurch," an eight-part miniseries about an English couple whose 5-year-old disappears during a French holiday may be more anguish than you want to think about. But if you can bear it, James Nesbitt and Frances O'Connor are excruciatingly good as parents who can't agree on when, how or whether to move on.

* MASTERPIECE: WORRICKER. 9 p.m. Sunday, WHYY12.

The David Hare trilogy starring Bill Nighy as rogue British spy Johnny Worricker concludes with "Salting the Battlefield," which finds Worricker on the run in Europe with an old companion (Helena Bonham Carter).

* BREAKTHROUGH PRIZE. 6 p.m. Saturday, Discovery and Science channels.

Seth MacFarlane hosts an awards show I'm fairly sure E! won't be rolling out its "mani-cam" for. The Breakthroughs, whose founders include Google's Sergey Brin and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, honor achievements in science and mathematics.
