On Chester County fields once slated to become houses, former bond trader turned farmer Dean Carlson has pasture-raised, hand-butchered meats and eggs from his "truly free-range" chickens, grass-fed beef and heritage-breed pigs. From noon to 5 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, he'll open Wyebrook Farm (150 Wyebrook Road, Honey Brook, 610-942-7480) to the public for a sale of his Freedom Ranger chickens at $4 a pound. The Parma pizza at Osteria (640 N. Broad St., 215-763-0920) is among the 50 best pies in the nation, so says Food Network Magazine, which spent six months researching the list for the September issue, on newsstands Tuesday. Editors were won over by the Parma's simple combination of razor-thin prosciutto, mozzarella, fontina and sherry vinegar-dressed arugula.

The western suburbs can get their Peking duck on starting Aug. 12, when Sang Kee Noodle Bowl (4755 West Chester Pike, 610-353-5353) opens. Win and Sutida Somboonsong of Win Signature Restaurants have teamed up with Sang Kee's Michael Chow on the project. Chow opened his Chinatown Sang Kee in 1980. Other Chow restaurants are in Wynnewood, Old City, Reading Terminal Market, University City and Parx Casino.

Punch is the theme, and the variations have names such as the Well-Deserved Punch, Regime Change Punch and 5 Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique Punch. Or try crushed-ice Swizzles like the Friday Foster - a mix of banana-infused Venezuelan rum, Italian vermouth, heavy cream, egg yolk and aromatic bitters.
