HBO: Doctor's back in
The half-hour series stars Gabriel Byrne as a troubled therapist named Paul Weston and is based on an Israeli series created by Hagai Levi, who is one of the executive producers of HBO's version, which is expected to return sometime in 2010.
Style targets self-loathing
As if "reality" TV weren't uplifting enough, along comes the Style Network, with a makeover show titled "What I Hate About Me."
Scheduled to premiere on Jan. 2 - the date most of us will be ditching our New Year's resolutions - the show, according to Style, "offers brutally honest expert advice and practical tips to help women who are trying to gain confidence and improve their lives."
Ratings spike for exit
Last week's airing of the abrupt - and frightening - departure of Glenside lawyer Russell Swan from CBS' "Survivor: Samoa" was watched by a season-high 12.88 million viewers, according to the early Nielsens.
Reportedly fine now, Swan collapsed during a challenge and had to be pulled from the game for treatment in an incident the show's host, Jeff Probst, called "the scariest moment I've ever had on this show." *
