Eats beat

* Chef Wars, featuring eight South Jersey chefs, is underway. You can reap the delicious benefits from this friendly competition in the $40 four-course meals dueling chefs prepare at each event. Guests vote for their favorite, who advances to the next level. Chef Kevin Taylor of Los Amigos faces chef Anthony Iannone of Anthony's Creative Italian Cuisine at 6:30 tonight at Anthony's (512 Station Ave., Haddon Heights, N.J.). Details at www.SJHOTChefs.com.

* Enjoy a buffet dinner or wine and cheese as vocalist Lynn Randall and her all-star band perform the Great American Songbook in the Summer Under the Stars series at Crossing Vineyards & Winery (1853 Wrightstown Road, Washington Crossing, 215-493-6500), 7 p.m. tomorrow. Buffet and VIP seating, $25, reservations required; performance only, $15.

* Cooper's Brick Oven Wine Bar offers a front seat for Main Street Manayunk people-watching. Now you can reserve a primo spot - just in time for the Manayunk Arts Festival June 27-28 - by calling 215-483-0444. That's also the number for Jake's, Bruce Cooper's other, more upscale restaurant next door. During the festival, Jake's $8 crab cake sandwich will be served outside all day ($10 with homemade lemonade).

* Fresh local seafood is "Off the Hook: A Celebration of Fish from New Jersey & Beyond," coming June 22-25 to nearly three dozen restaurants in Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties. Four-course, $30 meals will feature local and sustainable seafood to educate seafood lovers about the state of our oceans and fish populations. Information at www.sjgreendining.com.
