Les Bowen: Eagles at Bears: The pick
I'M ASSUMING Donovan McNabb plays and Brian Westbrook doesn't. I'm aware that the Eagles have lost five of these Sunday night prime-time things in a row, and that after winning 16 of 17 prime-time games earlier in Andy
Reid's tenure, they are 2-12 in their last 14.
And yet, I'm picking the Eagles. I think this defense is more what you saw in Week 1 and Week 3 than in Week 2.
I also don't think the Bears are exactly the Cowboys offensively. Yeah, the Bears could be 3-0, they have blown late leads in the games they've lost. The Eagles could have been 11-5 last season if a few select plays had gone differently.
"You usually get what you earn,'' offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg noted yesterday, in reference to a different subject.
I don't see the Bears scoring many points. The Eagles might not either - their offense without Westbrook probably won't be setting any records - but I see them muddling through, somehow.
Prediction:
Eagles 16, Bears 12. *
