* Beyonce will perform at the BET Awards, part of a lineup that includes Kanye West, Maxwell, Young Jeezy, Ne-Yo and Soulja Boy.

Beyonce is nominated for a leading five BET Awards, including favorite R&B female and video of the year. Rapper T.I., who will not perform, also has five nods, followed by Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Keri Hilson, tied with four nominations each.

Jamie Foxx will host the show, to be broadcast live June 28.

* Brad Pitt and his siblings' families have given $1 million to help a Missouri hospital open a pediatric-cancer center that will be named for their mother.

The Pitts gave the money to St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo., on Saturday in honor of their mom's passion for children's issues.

The hospital is opening the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center this summer in the town where the Pitt kids grew up. The donation will pay to hire the only pediatric oncologist and hematologist in southwest Missouri.

The new center will make St. John's one of six affiliates of St. Jude's Children's Research in Memphis, meaning the center will be able to participate in St. Jude's clinical research trials.

* After taking a break Sunday and disappointing the fine people of Manchester, Susan Boyle was expected to rejoin the "Britain's Got Talent" live tour last night, her spokeswoman said.

Yes, she has a spokeswoman.

"She had one rest day, but she will be back on stage tonight," she said, adding that she expected Boyle to take part in the rest of the tour, which runs until early July. According to the Associated Press, the spokeswoman spoke anonymously in line with company policy.

How can a spokesperson speak anonymously? Isn't the whole point of a spokesperson to not be anonymous so his or her client can be anonymous?

* "Sopranos" star Drea de Matteo and her longtime boyfriend, country singer Shooter Jennings, are engaged.

Hopefully, he won't Shooter in the woods.
