Dan Gross: Stensland's out at Fox 29

DAWN STENSLAND will be leaving Fox 29 at the end of her contract, sometime before the end of the year, the station has confirmed. The timetable of her departure is being worked out, a spokeswoman said yesterday. Kerri-Lee Halkett will take over as co-anchor of "Fox 29 News at 10" with Thomas Drayton. Stensland, wife of fired CBS 3 anchor Larry Mendte, started at Fox 29 in December 2001. She worked previously anchoring at CBS 3.

"Fox is not renewing my contract. I wanted you to hear that directly from me. Thank you for all your love and support over the years," Stensland Twittered last night.

Fox 29 yearly continues to lose class with me, regarding dumping talented newspeople, which is why, I stopped watching them in the last several months, especially waiting for the decision on Mrs. Mendte, further finalizing why I watch 17 and 6 even more. A class move, in light of her at home circumstances, would have been to renew her contract.
Comment removed.

Dawn's fate seems to be the trend in local News. Replace competance with the next Ralph Lauren stick model. Dawn was very good.

Love watching the very hot Dawn and Kerri-Lee, Nefferti and the other beautiful ladies that draw me to channel 29 every night at ten. Now Drayton, is another story altogether. He's as bland as a saltine cracker. Keep Dawn on the newscast!
