Dan Gross: Billy Mays' spots pulled

BENSALEM'S Media Enterprises said yesterday that it will pull Billy Mays' spots for its Mighty Putty and Mighty Mendit products until July 6 after the Pennsylvania-born pitchman is buried, in agreement with family wishes.

But beginning July 11, Media will air commercials that Mays recently taped for two new products, Mighty Tape and the Super Pack, which includes Mighty Putty, Mighty Putty Wood and Mighty Steel.

"After 10 years as Billy's business associates and personal friends, there is no doubt that Billy would expect the show to go on," said Bill McAlister, president of Media Enterprises. "A brief moment of advertising silence seems to be fitting tribute to the world's greatest infomercial voice. He will be missed."

Mays, 50, died at his Florida home Sunday. A coroner yesterday said that heart disease was the likely cause of his death.

Aniston stayed at Water ClubJennifer Aniston hosted a dinner party for eight at her suite at the Water Club in Atlantic City, where the actress stayed last week shooting "The Bounty," which co-stars Gerard Butler. We're told the Water Club and Borgata's butler staff served a meal that included menu items from Izakaya and Bobby Flay Steak that Aniston selected.

Aniston also dined at Bobby Flay Steak with the film's director, Andy Tennant, and worked out daily at the Water Club's Immersion Spa. Butler, who recently filmed "Law Abiding Citizen" in Philadelphia, was no stranger to Immersion Spa, working out there and being treated to a Four Hand Massage (two massage therapists). Butler also was spied studying his lines poolside after swimming laps at the Water Club's indoor pool. Butler is said to be playing a bounty hunter chasing his fugitive ex-wife, played by Aniston. "SNL" actor Jason Sudeikis co-stars and shot with Butler at the Borgata's porte cochere.
