Dan Gross: Utley's wife sues mover

JEN UTLEY, VP of the board of the Pennsylvania SPCA and wife of Phillies slugger Chase Utley, has filed suit against Sanford Alderfer Transport, Inc., of Hatfield, seeking $13,000 to replace "various personal items," allegedly lost by the company while the Utleys moved from one Center City condo to another last year.

Utley's attorney, Justin Wineburgh, declined to elaborate on what the personal effects were.

A Sanford Alderfer official had no comment yesterday, citing that she had not yet received the complaint, filed Thursday in Common Pleas Court.

The case is listed for an arbitration hearing next January at the Arbitration Center, where Common Pleas suits that seek less than $50,000 are sent.

'Bachelorette' guy not best baller

"Nice guy. As long as he doesn't try to impress the bachelorette with his court skills, he might do well," says a regular on the basketball court at the Sporting Club at the Bellevue about Reid Rosenthal.

Rosenthal, 30, a realty agent at PruFoxRoach, is among contestants on ABC's "The Bachelorette," which premiered last night. We reported last week that a commercial for the show appears to include a shot of Rosenthal in the courtyard of City Hall with "The Bachelorette" Jillian Harris, indicating that he advances far on the program.

In past "Bachelorette" seasons, the final four contestants introduce the girl to their families and take them on a hometown date.

Out and about

* Dave Matthews was at Bar-

clay Prime Saturday night tasting a few dishes from the lounge menu. He has eaten at the steakhouse several times now. His band was not playing in town Saturday, and it's unclear exactly what brought him to town.

* Penn grad Maury Povich host-

ed a reunion over the weekend in New York for production staff and crew from his first talk show in the 1990s. His wife, Connie Chung, attended, as did Philly folks Linda Calabrese-Kane, now with Banyan Productions, Spike TV's Janet King and former "Maury" producer Donna Benner.

* Lance Bass, former

"Dancing with the Stars" runner-up and NSYNC member, helped the Borgata's new dance team, B Luscious, debut Saturday at the hotel's Mixx nightclub. The girls performed NSYNC's "Bye, Bye, Bye," along with Bass.

* Former Sixers president Billy

King was among guests Tuesday at the Miles Miller Golf Open and Memorial Dinner, at the Eddington House, in Bensalem. Miller, captain of the football team at La Salle College High School, drowned in July 2004 just before he was to start college at the University of Richmond. King is a friend of Miller's father, Kenneth.

Drummer works on film score

Local musician Matthew Guza, who plays drums for The New Time, plays most of the percussion on the score to the film "The Brothers Bloom," which co-stars Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Weisz. The film, opening here Friday, is scored by Nathan Johnson, who's producing the New Time's debut EP, "An Incomplete History," out July 11. That night the band plays a record-release show at Johnny Brenda's (Frankford & Girard).

Scott Evans starts new show

Scott Evans, a longtime morning host at 92.5 WXTU, and Lisa Manning will syndicate a country morning show, "The Morning Machine," which will broadcast from Nashville. Evans says that he'll know soon if and where the show may air in Philadelphia. *
