The matter is in arbitration, but no hearing has been set. "The relief sought by the union is her reinstatement because she was not fired properly," Walters said, declining to elaborate on how Lane's termination had been mishandled. A station source says that CBS 3 did not notify the union that Lane would be fired.

Besides the union grievance, Lane also has an active civil suit for wrongful termination against CBS 3, which let her go two weeks after her arrest in New York on charges of assaulting a police officer. In a New York courtroom on Feb. 25, the assault charge was dropped. Her case is in a prolonged period of dismissal, so long as she stays out of trouble until September.

"The matter between CBS 3 and AFTRA is primarily procedural and involves a technicality regarding the terms of notification within our contract with the union," CBS 3 President Michael Colleran said yesterday. "It does not impact our decision regarding the action taken in January."

Lane did not answer an e-mail from us yesterday seeking comment.

'Bonnie' bothered at Starbucks

After reading Regina Medina's report in the People Paper yesterday that alleged identity thief Jocelyn Kirsch is working at the Silverado Plaza Starbucks in Napa, Calif., Metro, producer of 94 WYSP's Kidd Chris show, called the coffee shop, got Kirsch on the phone, and offered to pay $2,000 to the charity of her choice for an on-air interview.

She hung up on him. The busty barista is still employed by Starbucks, a company spokeswoman told Medina yesterday.

Jazz brunch comes to Moshulu

Smooth Jazz WJJZ 97.5 will begin airing its Sunday jazz brunch, hosted by Michael Tozzi from the Moshulu (401 S. Columbus), beginning April 13, confirms marketing man Gene Kolber, who helped negotiate the deal. Kolber spent Easter weekend with his daughter, ESPN's Suzy Kolber, and her new baby daughter, Kellyn. The Sunday jazz brunch had been held for ages at the now-closed Zanzibar Blue and also at Warmdaddy's, but hasn't been held recently.

Fake bin Laden is big 'Nova fan

In a gag audio recording on "The Late Show with David Letterman" Monday night, "Osama Bin Laden" professed his hatred for everyone's favorite lasagna-loving cartoon cat Garfield, and ended his message saying, "Death to America. And go, Villanova!"

We asked a show spokeswoman if 'Nova alums were on staff at the show and she said no, the joke was totally random.

Goodtimes plans a good time

Local quizmaster Johnny Goodtimes has enlisted Black Elvis and the Burnin' Loves and veteran comedian Wid to provide entertainment at Quizzo Bowl IV at the Legendary Blue Horizon (1314 N. Broad) Saturday. Forty teams will compete for the title of Kings of Quizzo. Goodtimes hosts the pub-trivia game at a handful of area bars and restaurants.
