Police and FBI seek same suspect in two bank robberies in Lawndale
The FBI and the police department are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the individual who robbed two Lawndale banks last week.
The robberies occurred on Oct. 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the PNC Bank, at 6705 Rising Sun Ave., and Oct. 27 at 1:45 p.m. at the Bank of America branch, at 6425 Rising Sun Ave.
In both robberies, the man entered the branches and presented threatening demand notes to tellers.
After receiving undisclosed amounts of cash in each robbery, he fled.
The robber is black, in his mid- to late-40s, 6 feet 1 to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build.
He had a salt-and-pepper trimmed beard and was wearing a white baseball cap, a dark waist-length jacket, tan pants and brown boots.
In the Oct. 26 robbery, he also was carrying a black backpack over his shoulder.
The man is considered armed and dangerous.
