Roxborough bank robbed
The FBI and Philadelphia Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men who robbed the Wachovia Bank branch at 6912 Ridge Ave. earlier this week. On Sept. 28 around 9:15 a.m., two men brandishing semiautomatic handguns entered the branch and threatened employees, according to a press release from FBI Special Agent J.J. Klaver. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the two men fled on foot, and were last seen running down Ridge Avenue. The robbers were described as black men in their 20s, both standing around 6 feet tall or taller with thin builds, the release stated. They both wore baseball caps, sunglasses and dark hooded sweat shirts. One baseball cap had a Pittsburgh Pirates "P" logo on the front and a red bill. The men's images were caught on bank surveillance footage. Both men are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI's Philadelphia office at 215-418-4000, or the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-3053. Callers may remain anonymous, and there may be a reward for information leading to the men's capture.
