CompuSultants offers 30 years technological experience
CompuSultants has vowed to “save the world, one computer at a time.”
The full-service consulting and support firm offers repairs, instruction, networking, cable and DSL installation, upgrades and more for small business and home computers, said owner Mitch Selko.
One of Selko’s specialties is removing the “malware” — viruses, Trojans, spyware — that has become commonplace in today’s technological world.
“The most significant issue over the years is security,” he said. “With the advent of the Internet and how easily accessible it is, it’s made computers more and more vulnerable.”
Even maintaining a 24-hour connection to the Internet could infect a computer, and users might not even realize the damage, Selko said.
CompuSultants works to remove the malware and implement preventative measures to protect your computer in the future.
“I’ve pretty much come across everything out there that you can come across,” he said. “There have been challenges, but there really hasn’t been a point where I’ve said, ‘Sorry, you’re on your own.’”
And CompuSultants customers are never on their own: The business offers free ongoing support and remote access capabilities for quick, quality service. Customer satisfaction is paramount, said the owner.
“I really care that when I leave a client’s home or office, their computer is back up and running,” he explained. “Their happiness is important to me.”
Selko also focuses on educating his customers.
“I do not speak ‘geek’ to them — I don’t want their eyes glazing over,” he said. “I speak in everyday terms people can understand and make it simple and easy.”
Selko, whose tagline is “I do Windows,” has been working in computers for more than 30 years.
“This is not a part-time job — it’s my only job,” he said.
Just as technology progressed over that time, so has the owner’s desire to learn. “The industry has transformed, and I’ve gone with it,” he said. “With all of the changes that have come down the pike over the years, I’ve had my finger on the pulse. It’s an adventure.”
Customers can be sure they’re receiving quality support and service with Selko’s extensive experience.
“Techs from [major chain competitors] who have just come out of school are book smart, but if it’s not in their book, they don’t know how to fix it,” he said. “There are so many variables involved, it requires a lot of field experience to be successful.”
Selko is sometimes referred to as “The Computer Whisperer,” he said, because computers “behave” when he’s near.
“The computer is not a cut-and-dry thing; one problem could be the result of 500 different things,” he explained. “My philosophy is to fix it right the first time.”
Based in Southampton, CompuSultants offers competitive pricing with guaranteed services, said Selko.
“I resolve most problems within an hour to an hour-and-a-half,” he said. “Even if the rate is more, we’ll do it in half the time, and it’ll be cheaper in the long run.”
The business offers free consultations over the phone and will set up in-home or in-office appointments at a time convenient for the customer.
There are no parameters on the CompuSultants’ geographical, scope and the business does not charge “travel fees,” said Selko.
During September, customers can receive 10 percent off the first hour of service by mentioning this Shop Talk feature.
