Get your summer greenery from Garrisdon Garden Center
The Clementon garden center sells all kinds of plants, trees and shrubs, as well as tools and other necessities
For plants, ponds and perennials, Garrisdon Garden Center has it all.
The center, located in Clementon, carries a full line of plants — shrubs, trees, annuals, perennials and hanging baskets — gardening products, supplies, gifts and more at very low prices, said manager Albert Ligamori.
Garrisdon Garden Center also specializes in pond care, offering Kloubec Koi fish, aquatic plants, fish food and medicine, liners and chemicals.
“We have products for all of the customer’s pond needs,” said the manager. “We also do pond openings, closings and installations.”
Depending on the size, a pond installation can take between two and five days, according to Ligamori.
Garrisdon Garden Center also performs pond cleanouts for homeowners seeking professional service.
“We powerwash everything, drain the pond, take out the sludge and leaves, and transport the fish into another tank,” Ligamori said. “We take care of everything.”
Those looking for discounts on their pond needs can join Garrisdon’s Pond Club, which gives members 10-percent discounts on fish, fish supplies and pond supplies.
Membership costs $25 and is good until Dec. 31.
The center also offers pruning services if customers need shrubs or flowers planted, Ligamori said, or they can purchase a variety of mulches and soils to do it themselves. Garrisdon Garden Center features “an experienced staff of lawn and gardening professionals available for advice and assistance,” according to its Web site, www.garrisdongardencenter.com.
Ligamori, who has nearly 40 years of experience in horticulture and said he can identify almost any type of leaf or insect, regularly shares his knowledge with customers.
“Anyone can come in the store with a plan of their property, and we can help them lay it out,” he said. “We can teach them how to plant grass, or help if they have a lawn, fungus or insect problem.”
Garrisdon Garden Center — formerly known as Cookie’s Garden Market — has been operating for 27 years and is open March through December.
Customers can visit the center from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Currently, Garrisdon Garden Center is offering a special on perennials: buy two and get a third of equal or lesser value at 50 percent off.
Different specials run throughout the season, Ligamori said, and customers can find Garrisdon’s coupons in My Community Trend.
