Get comprehensive care at the Healing Arts Center of Atco
The Healing Arts Center of Atco offers a friendly, caring environment for family medicine, physical therapy and chiropractic.
The center houses both Advanced Physical Therapy and Chiropractic, and Atco Family Medical Associates.
Advanced, which sees patients of all ages, was solely chiropractic when it opened in 1989, said Office Administrator Tom Carr, but physical therapy services were added in 1998.
Advanced’s mission is to provide patients with state-of-the-art physical therapy and chiropractic care in a comfortable and caring atmosphere, according to the practice’s Web site, www.advancedptandchiro.com.
Unlike many practices, Advanced Physical Therapy and Chiropractic takes on personal injury patients involved in motor vehicle accidents, said Carr.
The practice also regularly offers the services of an orthopedic surgeon and psychologist.
The Advanced office has a “family atmosphere,” said Carr.
“We’ve been in the area for 20 years and have had many of the same doctors the whole time,” he said. “It’s a good place to be. The patient always comes first.” The type of care allows for a strong patient-doctor relationship.
“This isn’t a once-a-month doctor’s appointment,” said Carr. “These patients come in two or three times a week over six months, and it really gives them a chance to get to know the patient.”
Patients can expect specialized, one-on-one treatment from professionals fully trained in all aspects of rehabilitation, he said.
The staff also focuses on educating patients and encourages them to ask questions. “During an evaluation, they go over the exact injuries and plan of care,” said Carr. Lately, the practice has seen a rise in preventative care, he added.
“They’re not waiting for injuries to happen,” he said. “Those who get adjusted stay away from problems down the line.”
Advanced Physical Therapy and Chiropractic, founded by Joseph J. Clements, also has locations in Hammonton and Sicklerville. The practice accepts all insurance, according to Carr.
The practice is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to noon.
Atco Family Medical Associates, also at the Healing Arts Center of Atco, is lead by Dr. Marvin S. Wallach, who has been practicing in that area for more than 40 years. “He’s a very caring doctor and is in touch with the local community,” said Carr.
Atco Family Medical Associates accepts all major medical insurance plans and NJ FamilyCare, the state-approved insurance plan for children in New Jersey.
The practice is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m., Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The office is closed on Wednesday.
