Repairs, software upgrades and more at Titan PC in Lumberton
Save time, money and energy on your computer needs with a call to Titan PC.
The Lumberton-based company offers new computers and laptops, repairs, virus and spyware removal, upgrades, business solutions, networking and on-site service for home and the office, said owner Abraham Thatcher.
The business prides itself on its honest interaction with customers.
“We don’t just sell whatever we happen to have here,” he said. “Some people get scared when we start talking jargon, but we show them how everything works — like a mini-class in what you’re buying before you take it home.”
Titan PC custom-builds desktops for a variety of uses — from standard usage to graphically-intensive games and applications. Desktops start around $400 and come with a warranty, said the owner.
“Our quality of product is superior to others because we know the parts we’re putting into each one,” Thatcher said. “We build them piece-by-piece.”
The business does not construct laptops but sells only top-quality machines from only the most trusted brands, he added.
Right now, Titan PC is giving consumers the opportunity to go “green” while saving some with “The Little Green PC.”
The brand-new, $199.95 computer is for users who don’t want to spend a lot of money, but need a computer for basic needs, such as checking e-mail and surfing the Web, said Thatcher.
The machine runs on 37 watts — about half of what a normal computer might use, according to Thatcher.
“Over the past year, there’s been a big push toward low-power, basic computers — like the 10-inch netbooks on the market,” he said. “The trend is toward ‘green technology’; people want to be as green as possible while still having a computer.”
A portion of each Little Green sale goes to New Jersey Keep it Green, a nonprofit organization that donates money, time and resources to helping the environment, said Thatcher.
Titan PC designed the Little Green “as cheaply as possible without using poor-quality parts” to keep it in the lower price range, said the owner.
“It’s not the fastest thing in the world, but it’s easy to use, is virus-proof, has all the software on it, and if you want upgrades, they’re inexpensive,” he explained, adding that the machine runs on Linux, a free operating system.
The business offers competitive pricing not only on its selection of computers, but also its quality services.
“On the repair side, the competition might charge $300 to reload a computer, but it’s $90 for us,” said Thatcher. “We try to be fair and not raid people’s pockets.” Titan PC also promises a quick turnaround time, he added.
For businesses, Titan PC can provide new machines, servers, workstations or on-site service — essentially becoming its information technology department, said Thatcher. “We evaluate what they have and make recommendations for changes and improvements to get them into what we think they need,” he said. “If they don’t need to make any changes, we’ll tell them that, too.”
The business focuses on improved security with backup, plus minimum to no downtime with server maintenance or replacements.
Titan PC offers work on a “retainer, self-service package” to allow for preventative maintenance and check ups, said Thatcher.
“[The business] would pay for 10 or 20 hours upfront so they don’t have to be billed every time we come out,” he explained. “It’s like a calling card: They can buy more minutes for less per minute.”
For both home users and businesses, Titan PC offers convenient remote access. “They give us a call, and within minutes we can take a look at what’s going on without having to travel there,” said Thatcher. “It’s good for businesses that rely on the computer because they don’t have to schedule an appointment and can jump right back in when we’re done.”
Thatcher opened Titan PC two years ago as an extension of his brother’s company, CompuCountry, when he left to pursue other interests. CompuCountry had been serving Burlington County since 1999, and Titan PC has maintained the same superior service and team of employees since its inception.
The business offers a referral incentive: Customers will receive a $20 store credit for the first referral and $25 for the next.
Titan PC is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 609-518-1010.
